How to Apply False Lashes
Ok, ladies, let’s discuss falsies. No, we’re not talking about expanding bra sizes to hefty double Ds, we’re talking lashes. False eyelashes, when applied correctly, can transform a look by really making your eyes pop. Sure, you get those 5-inch, save-it-for-Halloween type lashes, but the ones we’re talking about are subtle and add the most incredible, natural looking volume to your peepers. However, far too many of us wonder: how do you put the darn things on?
We decided to tackle this dilemma, once and for all. Check out our steps on how to apply false lashes, so you don’t have to deal with glue in your eye or lashes that look more like whiskers along your temples ever again.
Step 1: Apply all your eye makeup, except for mascara and curl your lashes. Note: do not trim the lashes shorter before you apply them. Snipping them will make them look short and blunt and frankly, a lot faker than you’d like them too. If you’re not sure if the lashes you’re buying are the right length for you, ask a sales assistant to help you.

Step 2: Wipe a small streak of the glue that comes with the lashes on the back of your hand. Pick up the strip as close to the base as possible with tweezers, not at the tip of the lashes (this could cause them to bend) and run the base of the eyelash along the glue, making sure it’s not too goopy. Let it dry for about ten seconds, so the glue gets tacky.
Step 3: Tilt your chin upwards facing a mirror, and position the lash strip in the center of your eye, as close to the lash line as possible. As soon as the glue sticks, push down on the lashes on the inner and outer corners of your eye, and hold them there for 30 seconds.
Step 4: Let the lashes dry for about five minutes and then apply liquid eyeliner over the base of the lash strip, just to hide any excess glue. If you feel like the lashes need to blend better with your natural lashes you can apply a thin layer of mascara. But be warmed: mascara can clump the lashes together, so if you insist of using some, be sure it’s not a thickening mascara.

As a great, simple alternative, you can color your hair right at home, which is an excellent way to save money and time that otherwise you would spend in an expensive salon. It is key to avoid washing your hair on the same day in order to let your scalp reproduce the natural oils which will provide protection against the irritations caused by chemicals.
These brushes are much better than the ones that come with the coloring kit, as they give you better control over your movements so your highlights or lowlights will look even more natural and professional.
Therefore it is key to choose a hair color shade, which is only one or two shades lighter than your natural hair color. In case you are applying lowlights make sure the color is two or maximum three shades darker and richer than the initial, natural color of your hair. Paying attention to these simple things, you can achieve wonderful natural results right at home.
Follow the instructions written on the package of the hair dye and create the mixture. Make sure you mix the ingredients right before you would apply it on your hair, as the hair dye starts to work as soon as it is prepared.

The best method is to use two or three-inch wide foil strips to separate colored strands from the rest of your hair. Apply the highlights or lowlights first starting at the base of tour neck and working forward, to the front part. Clip the rest of your hair, so that it won’t get into your way while working.
Place the foil strip under the hair you want to color, and apply the hair dye from the roots towards the ends. When you are ready with one strand, fold the foil strip into half, one or two times, depending on how long is your hair and proceed similarly with each of the chosen hair segments.
When you are ready with one row, let down the next row and repeat for the other strands. Continue with the next rows as well, making sure you achieve a staggered result. When you are creating both highlights and lowlights, it is important to vary the colors every other 1/4-inch row.
Applying lowlights to the under layers of hair will provide your tresses with volume and depth.
